With the Royal Wedding just around the corner. The Bolton News are inviting you to 'Design A Plate Fit Will and Kate.

 

                       

This is a fantastic competition run by The Bolton News, our great local paper and they are inviting local children to get 'arty' and enter this competition with the chance to win some top prizes.

If you are aged 11 and under you can send in your design for a plate based on the theme of the Royal Wedding

There will be fantastic prizes for the winners and the runners up with includes a years free family pass for the fantastic Blue Planet Aquarium in Ellesmere Port

The winner will also get to make their design at a pottery studio and even see it on display on the town hall square.

The Bolton News has teamed up with Bolton Council and the Mayor and Mayoress of Bolton, Cllrs John and Lynda Byrne, for the competition.

Ian Savage, editor in chief of The Bolton News added: “As well as celebrating the royal couple’s great day, our competition will also give children the chance to let their imaginations run wild and have some fun designing a winning entry.”

There are a number of ways to enter the competition and Design a Plate for Will and Kate.

 

  • A blank plate outline is printed in The Bolton News for you to colour in and bring into the offices on Churchgate Bolton
  • Go online at Bolton News Plate Competiton  and download an outline of a plate to draw on or colour in.
  • The Bolton News’ unique online Paintbox can also be used as a tool to design and submit an entry online.

 

 

Entries must be submitted by March 25 and the best ones will be printed in a special supplement on Tuesday, April 12.

Readers will be able to text vote for their favourite design over the following week, before the winners are announced on April 21 and in time for the Royal Wedding on April 29.

The winner will then get to bring their design to life at a local pottery studio and it will go on display at the HMS Dido Association Day in Victoria Square on Saturday, April 30, when celebrations will also be taking place for the Royal Wedding and St George’s Day.
