This year Bolton’s Food and Drink Festival is set to be bigger and better than ever with more venues, more chefs and much more to see and do.

With events taking place over the weekend of Friday 26th to Monday 29th August, the organisers, Bolton Council are putting on a range of paid for demonstrations from celebrity chefs as well as a number of high profile chefs who can be watched for free.

Some of the big names who will be attending the event are TV favourites James Martin, Gino D’Acampo and The Hairy Bikers, Si King and Dave Myers. The celebrities will be appearing on different days in the specially erected marquee ‘Demo Kitchen’ in Victoria Square, while other great names of the culinary world will demonstrate their skills in The Market Place Shopping Centre and Bolton Market on Ashburner Street.

The festival, now in it’s sixth year attracted an estimated 75,000 people in 2010 and provides a great opportunity for local traders to showcase what Bolton has to offer.

The Olympus Fish and Chip Restaurant on Great Moor Street, who are holding a 1940’s War Weekend during the festival, inviting customers to join them in dressing in period costume and enjoying entertainment from “The Entertainers” from Farnworth Performing Arts, so why not go along and enjoy the fun.

THE Chinese Buffet, Higher Bridge Street is always a fantastic place to enjoy great Chinese food in delightful surroundings, less than 5 minutes walk from Victoria Square.
