Bolton Council has introduced new guidelines in an aim to make sure taxi drivers in the Bolton area are safe.
There has been a massive review in policies in providing licenses to both private hire and hackney carriage drivers which helps determine if a person qualifies as being an appropriate individual to drive a taxi vehicle.
The new guidelines have taken lots of factors into account, such as any previous convictions, cautions and warnings of any individuals who wish to apply for a license and not only that, there is a large section covering safeguarding and child sexual exploitation.
Safety for passengers is the main concern for anyone driving a taxi and these guidelines will ensure that.
