The people of Bolton are being invited to vote in an X Factor style voting system on which areas in Bolton they would like to see cleaned up by offenders.

The scheme which sees offenders work as part of Bolton's Community Payback Scheme was launched last year with over 800 people voting to have the Churchgate subway area cleaned up.

Bolton Council along with Boltons Probation Service have now drawn up a shortlist of 5 areas in Bolton which they consider are local spots needing a little Tender Loving Care.

The offenders who are required to take part in the scheme will wear high viability jackets and be visible for residents to see they are taking part in the community payback scheme

People in Bolton are being asked to consider the following areas

  • The site of the Old Bridge Pub, Blackburn Road
  • The back of Bradford Street, Farnworth
  • The old railway cutting off Deane Church Lane
  • The back field off Knutshaw Crescent, Hunger Hill
  • Freds Triangle opposite the Fred Dibnah Heritage Centre, Radcliffe Road, The Haulgh

To vote for the scheme, residents need to call

  • 0800 197 4611 for the old Bridge Pub, Blackburn Road;
  • 0800 197 4612 for Bradford Street, Farnworth;
  • 0800 197 4613 for the Old Railway Cutting, off Deane Church Lane;
