Bolton bases charity Chemo Mums is making an urgent appeal for more volunteers. Chemo Mums is a charity which supports parents who are having treatment for cancer and is appealing for people to come forward.

Chemo Mums was set up by Lesley Bennison to offer support to mums who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. The charity is a voluntary support organisation assisting with the daily routines of life while undergoing chemotherapy.

In families, in many cases, it is usually the mum who is the 'glue' holding the family together however when cancer strikes and treatment is needed, the demand to try and continue as normal is enormous.

Chemo Mums can offer regular dependable assistance to a family when it is most needed, offering help with tasks such as

  • Child care in the home
  • School homework or sports runs
  • Meals
  • Hospital Appointments
  • Housework
  • Or Just an extra pair of hands

You can help by

  • Simply offering a few hours a week to support a family. Full training will be given and you will need to complete a CRB (police) check.
  • Making a donation
  • Holding a fund-raising event
