With their two-year milestone fast approaching at the end of this month Bolton Cancer Voices – the North West’s only dedicated Choir for cancer patients and cancer survivors - continues to go from strength to strength with inspiration, positivity, fun and shared experiences central to all they do.

In April the Choir held their first Performance workshop focused on vocal skills and stage presence and now in another first for the area the ladies of the Choir have been treated to a Masterclass in skincare and make-up courtesy of the cancer support charity Look Good Feel Better.

Karen Elliott, Chair of Bolton Cancer Voices said: -

‘Having such a professional organization agree to put on a Masterclass tailored to our needs was absolutely fantastic and we are tremendously grateful to them for rising to this unusual challenge: their lovely volunteers were very skilled and knowledgeable and made the whole evening a fun experience; I think it fair to say that a good time was had by all and we have lots of useful tips on how to look after our skin and enhance our makeup for performances without resorting to breaking the bank or having to replace the entire contents of our makeup bags!

If our experience is anything to go by I would thoroughly recommend their Workshops and Masterclasses.’

Look Good Feel Better is a national cancer charity supported by the beauty industry that is dedicated to helping improve the wellbeing and confidence of women and teenagers undergoing treatment for cancer through free nationwide skincare and makeup workshops, which provide practical support to help women combat the visible side-effects of their treatment, improving self-image and appearance whilst providing the opportunity to meet others in a similar situation.

During the past 20 years the charity has touched the lives of over 100,000 people; the Masterclasses, launched as part of Look Good Feel Better’s 20th Anniversary celebrations, form part of the current Look Good Feel Better Programme, which will see the charity support 20,000 women and teenagers in 2014.

With a full diary for 2014 and dates already in place for 2015 Bolton Cancer Voices are keen to hear from potential new members; particularly in demand at the moment are sopranos, tenors and basses but everyone is assured of a warm welcome.

If you are a cancer patient or a cancer survivor, enjoy singing, want to have some fun - not to mention plenty of lots of laughs and can get to Bolton for rehearsals then Bolton Cancer Voices would love to meet you.
