Who am I ??
Well... my name is Laura Jade Hodgson and I am 12 years old. I was born on 22nd September 2001, and am the only child. I live with my Mum and Dad in Farnworth, which is in Bolton. I enjoy shopping in Bolton town centre. My hobbies include drawing, reading and writing, but my favorite thing to do is Dancing... I do Freestyle, Street dance, Modern Jazz, Gymnastic dance, Tap and Ballet. I am en Pointe and have danced with the English Youth Ballet in their production of Giselle. I have also taken part in Bolton's Pantomime at The Albert Halls for several years in a row, and have also danced at the switch on of the Christmas Lights.
My Grandma makes me laugh !!
I went into Bolton shopping with my Mum and my Grandma yesterday and a song by Eminem came on in the shop...my Grandma said it was just awful noise and asked who sang it. I replied saying that it was Eminem. With this my Grandma looked shocked and said "not those cute little colored M and M men off the television". Me and my Mum nearly fell over laughing.
Dancing Delights...
I spend most of my time dancing and attend Bolton Dance and Performing Arts College around twice to three times a week depending on what Shows and Exams I have on. At the moment I am practicing for the Pantomime and my Grade 4 Ballet, Gold Ballet and Gold Modern exams. Even when I am at home I can be seen prancing around the house. I am always listening to music trying to decide which song for which exam. I choreograph my own routines for exams where possible, and also just for fun. My love of Dance comes from my Mum; she helps me with choreography and also helps me to perfect my technique. It's a bit like having a full time Dance teacher.
Pantomime Fun
Had Pantomime practice today and me and another Senior Eleanor have an extra part of the dance, we have to blow kisses to Widow Twanky... we were laughing so hard we had tears rolling down our faces. I also found out that I will be one of a few dancing en Pointe too, so very happy.
My Super Secondary School
Another of my favorite places is my secondary school. I attend St James CE Secondary School, which is in Farnworth, Bolton. I started in September and I love it. We are like one big family, I feel really happy and safe, and we all look out for each other. I have lots of friends, and my form tutor Mr Wylie is amazing. Before I started here I hated Maths because I didnât have any confidence, having had a lot of problems at Primary School, but Mr Smith has changed all that, and I now love Maths and my confidence is gradually increasing, he is a fantastic teacher and I will always be grateful to him for the difference he has made in such a short space of time.
My House and my Family...
My house is not far from my school in Farnworth, about 10 minutes drive from Bolton town centre. It is a 2 bed roomed semi detached house with a lovely garden. I love it because I can spend time with my Mum and Dad there. Most of the time Bolton is cold, and my house is always nice and warm. My bedroom is fabulous, and is painted in my favorite color, which is purple. I have lots of things in my room which hold memories for me; like my Gryffindor scarf which I got at Harry Potter World, my pin badges and Mickey ears from Disney World in Florida, and all my Dance trophies.
