When the Theatre Dance School (TDS) lost their current premises, it looked as if the business would have to close for good. That is until Bizspace Bolton stepped in and provided them with somewhere to keep the students dancing.

Paul Ogle, Cluster Manager of Bizspace Bolton, knew of people that attended the TDS, and became aware of the situation through these contacts. As the dance school was currently being run in a church hall, the rent Sarah (owner of TDS and partner of Stephen Ward, Height's Farm Premium Pet Foods and fellow thebestof Bolton member) was paying was quite low. Fortunately, Bizspace had a first floor unit of almost 4,500sqft that had the potential to be split into multiple studios, but was essentially a blank canvas for Sarah to fit out as she desired.

Sarah visited the space at Halliwell Business Park, and could immediately see the potential. After some negotiation, an agreement was made on a five year lease. Due to the business classification of the park and the fact that a dance school is classed as a leisure facility, Sarah needed to submit a planning application.

This is done online, and Paul offered some assistance by providing the required plans of the site, which usually have to be bought, and answering some of the questions needed for the planning application. The change of use was granted by Bolton Council and Sarah's alterations to the space are coming along nicely, in time for the official opening.

Paul Ogle had the following to say:

"The space and the deal I have done for the dance school has given them a lot of options to expand the business immediately, with three seperate dance studios and a small recording studio for singing.

"I am really pleased to have been able to assist in the relocation of the dance school, as I feel it is very important to give children a safe environment to be able to socialise and partake in after school events. There is also the added benefit of the additional footfall to the site, which will hopefully bring in more new business for myself."

The new school opens on the 31st of January, with classes starting on the 1st February. More information can be obtained via Sarah at the Theatre Dance School (TDS).
