BHE Services (Bolton) Limited has appointed a Green Deal Manager.

Simeon Parker, 49, from Pear Tree Grove, Tyldesley, will drive forward the company’s services to domestic and commercial customers under the Government’s proposed Green Deal initiative.

Simeon said: “Under the Green Deal proposals, households in Bolton will be able to get - at no upfront cost - a package of measures to improve the energy efficiency of their homes. This may include a new boiler, roof or cavity wall insulation, double glazing, LED lighting, and doors.

“The cost of these measures is paid for from the existing payment made by the householder to their electricity provider over a period of the lifetime of the new equipment, which will typically be 10 years.”

He added: “The householder will see NO increase in their household expenses to pay for the improvements. The equipment is paid for from the lower energy consumption of the householder and subsequent savings in energy costs.”

The Green Deal is due to be introduced this October.

The Government claims Green Deal will  enable many households and businesses to improve the energy efficiency of their properties so less energy is consumed and less money is wasted.

The Climate Change Act 2008 set legally-binding targets to cut carbon emissions across all sectors of the UK economy including homes and workplaces.

“The Government states that the Green Deal will have a golden rule: the costs of any new measures to improve the energy efficiency of a home or business premises will not exceed the savings,” says Simeon.

Simeon, who was previously Technical Manager for the largest private plumbing company in England - Avonside Plumbing and Heating, added: “From October anyone wishing to upgrade their property can have a survey carried out to identify the measures that are applicable to their property.

“BHE aim to be at the forefront of this new initiative and we have our own in-house surveyors to assist people with this process. Installation work will start in January and we can offer the full range of Green Deal measures.”

Anyone who wishes to know more about Green Deal can contact Simeon at BHE on (01204) 684034.

Mike Robinson, Managing Director of BHE Services (Bolton) Limited, said: “As awareness grows about Green Deal, I am certain that many households and businesses will see the value of services and benefits that are being offered under the initiative.

“Simeon will manage our Green Deal team which includes assessors and installers and help us to provide local households and businesses with an exciting range of services under the Green Deal.”

BHE Services (Bolton) Limited, which is based at Wilkinson House on Radcliffe Road, in Bolton, celebrated its 40th anniversary last year.

It provides a range of gas services to domestic and commercial customers including gas maintenance for tenants of Wigan & Leigh Housing.

It launched a renewable energy team last year too.

This team supplies and installs a variety of renewable energy equipment, including air and ground source heat pumps, solar panels, solar thermal, combined heating and power (CHP) units, and mini wind units - for both households and business customers.

Congratulations to Simeon on the new position, and good luck in your role.
