The AFG LAW team has now settled in to their Market Street, Bury office and are open for business. Resident Partner Greg French, who specialises in property law, wills and probate will lead a team of five people including Emma Cordock who is a family law solicitor. AFG LAW are a full service high street law firm established 116 years ago in Bolton. They undertook the recent expansion to Bury in order to capitalise on their success and to create new opportunities in a new community.

"We already do a lot of work in Bury, and given the close geographical proximity and the relationship the two towns enjoy expansion into Bury seemed a logical step.’

‘We’re excited about expanding into Bury, said Greg. ‘This is an excellent opportunity for AFG LAW to create new links within a vibrant town. We are a full service law firm - our ability to connect with potential clients and provide a spectrum of dependable legal services is vital to our continued success. We were impressed with the prospects we saw in Bury and we believe that the Market Street location gives us a good high street presence and an office that will support further growth in Bury.’

AFG LAW have offices in Bolton and Bury with seven partners and 30 staff. They have helped clients with a variety of legal needs including house sales and purchases, accident claims, care proceedings, criminal law, employment law, family law and more. They are LEXCEL accredited by the Law Society which means they have achieved the required standard of excellence in client care, case management and risk management - and they are required to continue to work hard to maintain their accreditation.  They are also part of the coveted Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme.

‘We are excited about the opportunity to take our traditional values and modern approach to Bury’, commented Greg. ‘We are also working with local Bury students to design a mural for our entrance hallway in the Market Street office. Not only does it tell a better story than a purely commercial design, but we believe it demonstrates our commitment to engage with the town - both through the subject matter of the design and our collaborative approach.’

Solicitor Emma Cordock adds ‘The move to Bury has also enabled the family law team to make some really useful connections with the local domestic violence agencies in Bury and Rochdale.  It is a very sensitive area of law but one that is necessary to ensure that victims of domestic abuse are protected.’
