Last year AFG LAW took part in the Will Aid charity campaign. They prepared basic wills for clients free of charge; in exchange, those clients agreed to make a donation to charity.

Will Aid distributes the funds to various charities including ActionAid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, Sightsavers, SCIAF (Scotland) and Trocaire (NI). AFG LAW raised £880 for the month long campaign.

‘We were pleased to have taken part in the Will Aid charity campaign last year’, said Anita Boardman, Bolton office partner. ‘Not only did we have the opportunity to meet many more new clients and provide a worthwhile and important service, but we also had the satisfaction of taking part in a very worthy cause. We’re delighted that the money raised will make such a positive impact on so many peoples’ lives.’

Founded in 1988, Will Aid raised over £2.1 million for charities in 2012 with more than 1500 solicitors participating. Over the years more than 150,000 people have written wills through Will Aid, many of them using legal services for the first time.

All the funds raised were divided amongst the nine participating charities. The diversity of their work means that donations will help improve life for people of all ages both abroad and here in the UK. You can learn more about the charity online here www.willaid.org.uk.
