Business-minded students from six schools across the Bolton, Wigan and Salford areas competed in the Young Enterprise regional finals at Bolton College.

The sixth annual National Apprenticeship Week takes place between 11th and 15th March and is designed to celebrate apprenticeships and the positive impact they have on individuals, business and the economy. Alliance Learning, Bolton, will be taking part, holding their Open Evening on the 12th March.
Lasting Beauty, in Harwood, are known for making people look beautiful. But this Friday (the 15th February), they will be inflicting pain as part of a charity back wax to support the charity Brain Tumour UK.
The Octagon Theatre, an important part of the cultural scene in Bolton, is to undergo a revamp thanks to a cash boost of more than £380,000, which will see a number of new features as well as old fixtures being replaced and upgraded.
Construction trainees at Bolton College were recognised at the national final of SkillBuild – the UK’s largest multi-trade competition.
Leading North West Apprenticeship provider, Alliance Learning, recently presented three of their apprentices, Gareth T Humphreys, Heather Peach and Michael Cox, with multimeters to support them in the 2013 World Skills Competition, the finals of which will be played out in Leipzig, Germany, next year. All three are Apprentices employed by MBDA Missile Systems at Lostock.
