Last Thursday Evening members of Sudbury and District Round Table helped out at the Kernos Centre on Friars Street, Sudbury to clear their rear garden to return it to a useable state having previously helped to clear the area in 2013.

As the Kernos Centre is a not- for-profit organisation, Sudbury Round Table helping to clear the garden enables impo

rtant funds to be spent on front line activities so it can offer counselling to anyone who needs it, whenever they need it, for as long as they need it, regardless of circumstance.

The garden went from being overgrown and unusable, to an area that was cleared, with the beds weeded and replanted thanks to a very generous donation of flowers and plants from Homebase Sudbury.

Sudbury and District Round Table previously helped out with other local organisations including the 3rd Scout Group to clear an area around their Headquarters, on Quay Lane. In 2013 they also helped clear an area at Saint Joseph's Roman Catholic Primary School to enable them to build a new class room area which enabled the school to meet expansion requirements.

Sudbury Round Table typically meets on first and third Thursdays every month, and are looking to help other organisations or individuals on designated “community service nights”. It could be a small job that we could do in an evening, or a bigger project that we could help with DIY SOS style, that utilises our skills and contacts having many of the trades covered by our members. If you have a cause that you feel deserves our help, or would like to join us and help make a difference in the community whilst meeting new people and trying new activities, please get in touch by emailing sudburyroundtable@gmail.com tweeting us @SudburyRT  or going to our Facebook page.
