Welcome to the Hertford Blog.
Last week showcased why local businesses in Hertford are really at the top of their game when it comes to community and charity.
New member to The Best Of Hertford, eKuiLibriuM Personal Fitness opened the doors of their beautiful studio on the outskirts of Hertford to the public and clients alike for a double marathon challenge!
In aid of the brilliant cause of Marie Curie Cancer Care, dozens made the journey to Foxholes Farm to take part in the double marathon challenge which saw 2 rowing machines and 2 treadmills in constant action until the distance of 26.2 miles was reached on both sets of equipment.
Runners and rowers were dripping sweat and smiling smiles all afternoon as they edged closer to the target distances. Finally the rowing machines stopped whirring as the last pair on board reached the 26.2 miles, and the attention turned to the last man on board the treadmill as he huffed and puffed his way to the finish line, bringing the grand time for the running to 2 hours dead!
Well over £200 was raised by all who attended and after plenty of tea and cake a group of the regular weekly bootcamp attendees made the journey to Ware for a curry to nicely round the day off.
What was a really fun day had a serious message attached as well, Marie Curie Cancer Care provided care for eKuiLibriuM owner Larry Mangelshot’s mother as she battled cancer earlier this year. They made sure that both Larry and his father got as much quality time as possible with their mother and wife until she sadly died. They are a great cause and well worth supporting. Below is a link to give whatever you can afford to this wonderful charity in memory of Larry’s mother.
