What Can Heanor Market Offer You?

Here we are at the beginning of June and finally the sun has got his hat on so there is no excuse not to come and pay a visit to Heanor Market.

What can we offer you?

Every Friday and Saturday we have fresh fruit and veg, quality fresh meat, locally baked bread and cakes and the best fresh fish brought all the way from Grimsby. We have well priced bedding, handbags and mobile phone accessories, hand- made jewellery and a huge range of women’s and men’s clothing and underwear, as well as Pet Supplies, mobility scooters and a picture framer.

Then on the third Saturday of every month we also have our Farmers Market with locally produced meat, pies, bread, cakes, cheese and chutneys, honey, fudge, coffee, soaps, candles and wild bird seed.

We are always looking for new stall holders and the variety is increasing every month.

The next farmers market will be held on June 15th just in time for Father’s Day.

Our local market traders need you to support them.

They are all self-employed and come out in all weathers to earn a living. Everyone out there says they want to see Heanor market the way it once was but in all reality that will only happen if traders are actually earning a wage. They don’t do it for the good of their health and if it doesn’t pay they won’t stay. You wouldn’t go to work for nothing, would you?

We can all play our part in bringing back the vibrant markets from yesteryear even if it just means swapping where you purchase your bananas from or remembering to come and buy your new bedset from the market instead of the local supermarket. You will probably find that it costs a lot less too.

Show some love for your local market!
