The White Rock theatre is always a hive of activity and this Spring is no exception! There's a whole host of shows and entertainment for all the family over the next few months!
Here are some of the highlights...
If it's comedy you're after then you'd be hard pressed to find bigger names on stage at the White Rock. Ricky Gervais is performing warm up shows of his new tour on 16th & 17th April, and then Britain's Got Talent winner Lost Voice Guy is on stage the very next day! On 2nd May we see Reginald D Hunter perform his show "An American Facing the Beast" and Jimmy Carr will be sure to get you giggling on the 2nd July. And don't miss Rhod Gilbert with his "The Book of John" tour on the 17th July. You can also see Harry Redknapp - last year's "I'm a Celebrity" winner who's bringing his "An Audience With" show to the White Rock on 12th June.
If you're looking to entertain the little ones why not bring them along to see the performance of "Dear Zoo", bringing the much loved children's book to life. Book in for performances on 5th & 6th May. See a live version of The Jungle Book on 12th May and "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" on the 6th June. Looking ahead to the summer holidays be sure to book your tickets to see the wonderful Chitty Chitty Bang Bang which is on 15-17 August.
And for the next few months it's tribute bands and musical masterpieces galore - from tribute acts "One night of Adele" (4th May), "Rumours of Fleetwood Mac" (11th May), " Fast Love tribute to George Michael" (7th June) and the "Illegal Eagles" on 15th June. Or see the real bands themselves with Jules Holland (5th June), Kings of Leon (22nd June) as well as the fabulous Rick Wakeman perform live on 21st July!
These are just a small taster of what's to come. To get more information on any of the shows we've highlighted, as well as all the others coming to the theatre over the next few months, just take a look at the website here.
It may seem mega early but you'd be surprised how quickly the tickets for the pantomime sell out. After the recent Giant success of Jack and the Beanstalk, this year’s panto will be a magic-carpet ride you’ll never forget, in the wish-granting family panto... Aladdin. Packed with all of the traditional pantomime ingredients White Rock audiences expect, Aladdin will be featuring an all star cast, loads of laughs, superb special effects and all the singing and dancing to keep everyone having loads of fun. It's such a hit with all the family so if you have a specific date in mind then bagging those tickets early is strongly advised.
Aside from all the shows (and we're sure you'll agree there are some absolute crackers in there!), the theatre really is a fabulous place to enjoy a whole evening of entertainment. From weddings to corporate entertainment, parties to celebrations, the theatre has all the facilities you need to guarantee a fun time will be had by all. It's all part of the theatre's commitment to ensuring the fun starts before the curtains go down! From dining on delicious food before the show, or enjoying a few light refreshments, there is something for everyone. (For groups of 15 or more you should enquire about dining from the Seaside Menu in advance). Jump the queues at the interval by pre-ordering your interval drinks. The bar staff will happily take your order before the performance and your drinks will be ready and waiting in the interval.
There's even afternoon tea available on certain dates throughout the Spring and summer - visit the website to check and book online. Tuck into the delights of afternoon tea in the Cafe Lounge, looking out onto that gorgeous sea view... bliss!
