It really is an exciting year ahead for the White Rock Theatre.
The theatre has already rung in the changes with the auditorium being will updated to allow for much greater flexibility. The original wooden flooring that historically limited the auditorium space has been fully refurbished, and changes to the seating configuration means the theatre is now able to present standing concerts in the main part of the theatre for the first time since 1985. And to top it all off, there is also some pretty impressive brand-new curtaining throughout.
The old stalls seating section that was in a raised configuration has reverted back to a flat floor arrangement. Seats have been updated so they can be removed easily which means the theatre can host live gigs and standing shows with a greater capacity. It also means events such as exhibitions, conferences and even large scale dining events can be hosted.
The dress circle will also now be opened for all performances, which means customers can enjoy a range of seating options for every show.
Rich Lown from the White Rock Theatre told us "We're very excited about the changes we've seen at our fabulous theatre. Whilst we have held standing concerts previously, reverting the raised stalls into a flat configuration means we can easily remove all of our seats downstairs, not just the previous flat stalls. This will increase our capacity significantly which will result in much larger events (and bigger names!) Watch this space!"

The award-winning English Youth Ballet are bringing a professional production of Coppélia to the White Rock Theatre from Thursday 16th to Saturday 18th May. They are looking for 100 young lucky ballet dancers (ages 8-18) to be part of this amazing production.
Head to the White Rock Theatre on Monday 4th February to audition on stage. One of the largest ballet companies in the UK and now in its 21st successful year, the English Youth Ballet is delighted to bring this once in a lifetime opportunity for any budding ballet dancers to be part of this incredible experience!
Audition times run as follows:
4.30pm – 6.15pm - Audition 1 (for dancers aged 8 – 11)
6.45pm – 8.30pm - Audition 2 (for dancers aged 12 – 18)
