Is Your Ideal Client Still 'The One'?

Moving on is hard to do... πŸ’”

I won't teach you to suck eggs. If you're involved in selling your services online, you've been told once - if not a hundred times - that you need to define your ICA: Your 'Ideal Client Avatar'.

They're the person (real or imaginary) you think of whenever you create any service or package in your business. They are person on the other end of every piece of conversational and sales copy you create in your business.

When you record a video or write an email, it should be an informal chat with this person. And you should know them WELL.

However, there's no hard and fast rule that says that once you've got to know them, you can't change your mind... 🀷

People grow apart, things change, and what's 'ideal' one day may be holding you back the next.

So, take this as your personal permission slip to take a good hard look at your ideal client, and if you're just NOT that into them anymore, give them the old heave ho... πŸ™…

Here's the thing: Your business is constantly changing and evolving. Chances are you're coming up with new ideas, packages and services all the time. You might even be replacing or refining some of your previous offerings.

That means there's a good chance your ideal audience is changing all the time too, right?

⚑Maybe you used to target small business owners, but now you've got a bigger team and more resources, you feel driven to make a bigger impact by working with larger companies?

⚑Maybe you used to focus on diet and nutrition for busy entrepreneurs, but now you've had a baby you feel more connected to other new mums?

⚑Maybe you believed your first client was the best it could get, but now you've spread your wings you realise they were actually REALLY hard work?

All of this is absolutely FINE.

You're allowed to change your mind.

You're allowed to grow.

You're allowed to set new, more ambitious goals for your business, and realise that means targeting a whole new ideal client.

So, if the spark just isn't there anymore, it might be time to see other people. After all, no one put a ring on your finger! πŸ˜‰πŸ’

Tell me - how has your ideal client changed since you started your business? πŸ‘‡πŸΌπŸ‘‡πŸΏπŸ‘‡πŸ»
