It may only be November but the two week Christmas holiday break will be here before we know it. Of course there will be plenty of turkey eating and present opening, but once that's done, what else will you get up to with the family in Hastings?!
We've scoured the local listings to bring you all the activities and fun for the Christmas holidays in one place... here goes!
This is always one of the most popular events on the Christmas calendar and this year promises to be no different. "Sleeping Beauty" at The White Rock Theatre will offer magic, music, comedy and special effects, creating the perfect family festive fun day out. Honey G from the X Factor will be making her pantomime debut. Booking early is recommended for this popular event that tends to sell out fast - so don't miss this first-class entertainment! The pantomime has a limited two week run from 15th-31 December, so don't delay and book today.
The temporary ice rink returns to Hastings on 1st December for another fun filled month. This popular Christmas family activity is the perfect way to blow away the cobwebs... just make sure you stay on your feet! Visit their Facebook page for opening times and ticket information. Advance booking is recommended, especially if you're thinking of going along at peak times.
Looking for something different to do as a family? 1066 Target Sports is an indoor activity centre in St Leonards that offers something for everyone. From Nerf wars right through to axe throwing and archery, one thing's for sure - you'll definitely hit the mark with family entertainment here.
After the time consuming, labour intensive demands of cooking the Christmas turkey, it's a huge relief to enjoy dinner out! Hastings is spoilt for choice with options to eat out with the family.
Enjoy fabulous Italian fare at the iconic The Italian Way restaurant on Hasting's seafront. Their family friendly restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy a special meal out with the young ones, and their special 2 or 3 course menu of family favourites is available at lunch and dinner throughout December.
Bay Spice Indian restaurant serves up delicious Indian food with options such as chicken nuggets, scampi or fish fingers for younger children that may struggle with spicy food.
If you'd rather stay in you can still enjoy a meal cooked by someone else, courtesy of Rustico Italiano. Their restaurant not only offers a fantastic dine in environment but they deliver their authentic Italian street food too. With pizza and pasta that's a taste sensation it'll make a wonderful change from turkey sandwiches! And, they're opening in Bexhill too later in November!
If you're hosting a Christmas party with children this year, make it a get together to remember with entertainment from Danny the Idiot and his Christmas elf. Each child is presented with their own balloon in the form of wearable balloon art, reindeers, snowmen, candy canes, penguins and much more!
After recently winning the Stirling architecture prize why not head along to Hastings pier to check out the location for yourself?! This iconic landmark has been lovingly restored following the devastating fire in 2010 - no visit to the seafront would be complete without a wander down the pier, and on those crisp, sunny Winter days the surroundings really are a sight for sore eyes. Enjoy a run around on the beach, followed by a cuppa and some cake in the cafe as you take in the sea air... bliss!
