The local, annual, fundraising triathlon event TRI-ULTIMATE returns for it's third year on 27th September 2015. Run by local charity Hope for a Child, to help fund its charitable works in Malawi in east Africa, the event has raised a total of £30,200 over the past two years.
The annual Night Ride event, backed and organised by Healthspan and the Guernsey Bicycle Group, is introducing a shorter family-friendly route for 2015, yet still has the more arduous longer routes for those seeking a challenge.
The Guernsey Bicycle Group is organising another NightRide after the inaugural event last year was so successful and popular. The first NightRide last year saw over 300 local cyclists raise more than £7,000 for charity by riding around the moonlit roads of the island one evening.
The Guernsey Arts Commission has budgeted £10,000 to support emerging bands and music groups. Interested groups can apply for a £1,000 grant to develop their careers, to pay for promotion, gig expenses, studio time or CD pressing.
