Lovely golden sandy beaches, a quiet remote peaceful paradise island. It is fantastic sitting having a drink and cake in a café by the sea. Haven't stayed there yet but we will as it is ideal place for walking and cycling. Herm is out of this world and you don't need to go to the Caribbean to find a piece of paradise as it is right here.
Been holidaying on the island for a few years as have my family it's the best place ever, so beautiful. Perfect for children lovely walks and beaches. Lovely pub with fantastic food can't wait to come back in the summer and many more summers to come
We visit Herm at least 5 times a year and stay at the White House. There is no better place in the world to feel the stress fall from you as you step off the boat! We love the beaches, the views, the walks, the peace, the Mermaid and most of all the the welcome back as old friends we get from the White House staff. The food and wine list are fabulous too! Herm is definitely the best!
Not only is Herm a wonderful place to love but I can imagine what a fantastic place it is to visit. The food is fantastic, people are always so friendly, and the island itself is absolute bliss! I wouldn't change being lucky enough to live on this paradise island for anything!
Herm Island. Wow- where to start? The fully equipped camping that we get together with friends and their children and enjoy every July...the cottages that we rent in the October and February half terms. The day trip birthdays parties that we have made to Herm involving a quick stop at the Herm shop to buy guns followed by a burger at the Mermaid and an 'epic' nerf gun battle on the common before taking the boat home...the history; the archaeology...the support that Jonathan Watson gave us to raise funds for the GCH. Many happy memories have been created in Herm that will be remembered for many years to come :-)
Herm is an incredibly special place for our family. I have been every year since I was born never missing a year! Now I go with my fiancé and we are planning to carry on coming when we have children so they have the same special memories I do! The island is peaceful and quiet, ideal to get away from our busy modern lives. It is beautiful, full of wildlife and fascinating plants thanks to the Islands head gardener. The view from the front lawn of the hotel in the evening when the sun goes down and the lights go on over on guernsey is the perfect accompaniment to after dinner drinks. Every year when we step in to reception we feel like we are home. Heaven!
Herm holds a very special place for our family. I have been almost every year of my 45 years, either in the charming White House hotel, self catering, camping or a day trip - any trip to Herm is better than none! The peace and beauty are hard to equal anywhere else and there is such a sense of community, from Travel Trident staff helping with bags and supplies, hotel staff going the extra mile to make a stay more special and local families fundraising for good causes, all are made welcome in the Herm experience. My favourite place in all the world.
Beautiful place, excellently run, fantastic holiday location, i can't recommend Herm Island enough to anybody thats never been, although if you have been you wont need my recommendation you will already know about this beautiful place.
I had the pleasure of staying at Manor Cottage on Herm Island recently. The accommodation was lovely, the location fantastic and the local businesses of the hotel/pub/shops were just outstanding. Highly reccomend :)
We stay at The White House Hotel for a fortnight in the Spring every year. The Island is beautiful and the Hotel excellent. The staff always have time to help make our stay perfect. The food is wonderful and dining is always a treat in the Conservatory Restaurant overlooking the sea with the glorious sunsets as a bonus.
Herm is a magical place for adults and kids alike. Many happy memories of past visits and looking forward to been there again in June. Peace and tranquility prevail amongst the natural Beauty of this island.
We are regular visitors to Guernsey and never miss an opportunity to go to herm when we're there. It has to be one of my most favourite places on the planet. Despite the obvious attractiveness of herm, we have always found it unspoilt & the people friendly. This was particularly felt when we spent christmas in one of the cottages on herm several years ago. We were made to feel extremely welcome... Invited into the White House for pre-xmas drinks, and to participate in the Christmas Day swim!😁. Love herm. Good luck x
Herm is beauty personified. It has a charm all of its own. Whether to choose camping, self catering or the luxury of the White House Hotel is sure to be the only headache you have when planning to stay over. Children can run free-range and have a sense of independence that gets lost in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Adults can relax, unwind and enjoy the beach, the views (or the Mermaid if the weather looks dodgy!) Staff are always welcoming, enthusiastic and helpful. It is, without doubt, one of the most beautiful places in the world and we, as the Bailiwick of Guernsey, should be so proud to have such a gem.
A Guernsey girl, I fell in love with Herm as an 11 year old, 54 years ago. The island has achieved that most illusive thing, how to be relevant in the modern age without loosing it's traditional charm and timelessness . Long may it endure.
We feel so lucky to live close to Herm Island, we like to visit every year and try and spend a few days there. Everyone is so friendly, the Management & staff at the Mermaid are second to none. Delicious food and a really warm friendly welcome. The beaches are beautiful and the cottages and log cabins are a fantastic place to stay. We've even camped a few times. I would recommend Herm Island to anyone, The nicest place in the world to relax and unwind.
Such a wonderful place to get away from real life and live like the Famous Five!! Great for children and adults alike. So much to see and do for such a small place. The best place ever to just unwind and relax.
When I step off the boat the stress just leaves me immediately. Herm is such a relaxing, beautiful place to visit, whether on holiday, for a weekend, just a day trip, or even for lunch! The beaches are amazing, the people friendly & the views outstanding. Every time I visit the Channel Islands I have to go to Herm - I just love it!
Having got married in Herm in 2013 we returned for our anniversary. It's a very special place indeed, top class customer service is the norm and you will always leave feeling relaxed. A must visit for anyone.
Herm is in a word, lush. Beautiful clear water, safe and clean place to walk about and enjoy. Used to spend most weekends here as a child when my parents had a boat and we lived in guernsey, since moving to the Isle of Wight, Herm is the part I miss the most!! I was lucky enough to be proposed to on Herm in 2013, the perfect place picked by my future husband!
