Delta Training's proprietor, Dawn Bagnall CIEH, served 22 years in the British Army in mainly training and operational roles in the Middle East. Afterwards Dawn worked for two years as a front-line Emergency Medical Technician with Guernsey's Ambulance and Rescue Services. Dawn created Delta to provide the high quality training in First Aid and Health & Safety that she believes the Island deserves.
Delta can provide training to any organisation, to both large groups and individuals. With a range of established courses, your specific requirements can also be accommodated with a bespoke course constructed just for you. Delta's service includes site visits to assess First Aid and Health & Safety needs in situ, per HSE regulations. Operating mainly in the Channel Islands, Delta can travel to fulfil your specific requirements.
Delta Training serve the general public, industry and the military. Whether you need training in First Aid, Fire Safety, Manual Handling, or Health & Safety, Delta Training can assist you.

Proper Training, Not Just Ticking A Box
First Aid is the initial assistance rendered to a person who has been injured or become ill. First aiders take responsibility to keep everyone involved safe, to prevent further harm until emergency services arrive; to do this they must recognise the emotional and physical needs of all involved, including themselves.
In an emergency the body releases hormones that can cause "fight, flight or freeze" responses. Nominated first aiders are trained by Delta to express a calm and considerate demeanour to facilitate trust and respect so that they can manage this situation.
Delta Training has also developed a Pediatric First Aid course specially designed for anyone who works with children and infants, such as teachers, child minders, crèche assistants and playgroup personnel.
Automatic External De-Fibrillators (AED) are required when the heart is not able to pump blood normally around the body. AEDs are becoming more prevalent to public access around the island and being confident in their use is becoming critical to life saving in a first aid situation.
Fire is potentially devastating to a workplace, with damage to property and the environment and possible life-threatening injuries to staff and customers. Most fires are preventable, so the importance of fire safety in the workplace cannot be overestimated.
Health and safety legislation obligates employers to ensure their staff are appropriately trained in case of fire, from evacuation procedures, to knowing how to use fire extinguishers. Delta Training can help your organisation comply with these legal requirements.
Delta Training's Manual Handling courses primarily tackle risk to staff health from heavy manual labour such as lifting. Delta offer a full risk assessment of your premises and equipment, with targeted training to suit your needs.
Health and Safety
Health and Safety is about managing the risk of harm to people in the workplace. Indeed the law expects an employer to protect staff and customers by implementing measures to limit such risks. A Health and Safety risk assessment by Delta Training can identify sensible precautions to minimise these risks in your workplace.
Staff are best placed to identify the risks, and in a small business the management might consult with them directly. A larger business will require a health and safety advisor, chosen by employees, to mediate with management, and Delta can assist with training them.
