Eastbourne Lammas Festival
  • Hampden Park Drive
    Eastbourne

The word ‘Lammas’ comes from the old English for ‘Loaf Mass’, a celebration of the Earths bounty, traditionally held at the time of cutting the foist corn crop. Lammas is also known as Lughnasadh, a name derived from the old Celtic sun god Lugh. It is one of the main festivals by the Modern Pagan movement.

It is a time of rebirth and new beginnings and is a good time to give thanks for the abundance we have in our lives and to be grateful for the food on our table.

Eastbourne Lammas Festival is a celebration of the first harvest; it has been held in Eastbourne since the year 2000 until Covid put a stop to it. It was held on the seafront at the Westen Lawns and now it is back with a new team and new much larger location in Hampden Park on the 1st& 2nd August 2026.

The festival will include Live music, Morris dancing, Craft and trade stands, Talks and workshops, food vendors and Licenced bar.

Our nominated Charity for 2026 is

East Sussex Wildlife Rescue or WRAS as its known.
