Polegate Ramblers have been walking together since 1969, with a varied programme of group walks taking place every Thursday.
Walkers usually have a choice of a shorter walk of around five miles or a longer walk of around eight to eleven miles. Routes change each week and take the group across the South Downs, Sussex countryside and surrounding areas.
The group meets at Polegate Recreation Ground before travelling to the starting point of that week's walk, with car sharing used where appropriate.
Anyone thinking about joining is welcome to try a few walks before becoming a member. The club asks new walkers to contact the relevant walk leader beforehand for details.
Walks should be booked with the individual walk leader from 9am on the preceding Friday. The club publishes a detailed programme covering the route, distance, terrain and walk leader for each date.
