Rangers hope to double points tally at Catsfield
Eastbourne Rangers travel to Catsfield this weekend in the hope that they can repeat last weeks winning performance against Crowhurst. Rangers currently sit 3 points above Catsfield who have played three league games this year and they find themselves rock bottom of division 2. On the opening day of the season they came up against a formidable Little Chelsea side who ran out comfortable 6-1 winners while seven days later they were pipped by The JC Tackelway 3-2 at Catsfield Rec. A break from league action did not see them fair any better as they were thumped 6-0 by division one side Hollington II in the first round of the Wisden Sports Challenge Cup. Last week Catsfield travelled to Ninfield II and came away empty handed as a 2-0 defeat was the best they could muster. Their league record is P3 W0 D0 L3 F3 A11 GD -8 Pts 0. This weeks hosts clearly have problems at both ends of the pitch, not too dissimilar to rangers themselves.
Rangers go into this game buoyed by last weeks win and despite having a few notable absentees (including gaffer Nick Stevenson) they should be full of confidence going into this game.
Can rangers do it?
Let’s hope so.
