I am delighted to announce this year’s winners in thebestof Eastbourne Business of the Year 2022 Awards.
In previous years we took part in the national campaign run by thebestof UK to find the best businesses across the UK, but with Covid-19 and other business challenges on the rise I wanted to focus on Eastbourne and which of our local businesses were going the extra mile for their customers.
The Business of the Year Awards is run by thebestof Eastbourne, a marketing organisation committed to raising the profile of local, independent businesses serving Eastbourne and the surrounding areas.
During the campaign, local people were encouraged to show their support for their favourite local business by leaving a review of the service they received from the business. The focus of our 2022 awards was to find the best businesses in the following categories:
The winners and highly commended businesses were:
Business Services Winner – One Answer Insurance with Dent Devils East Sussex and Transformations recognised as highly commended in the category
Trevor Cutts the Managing Director of One Answer Insurance said “Thank You to all of our customers that voted to enable One Answer to win this prestigious award. As a business, we are proud to be not only a local business but one that looks after customers across the country in their insurance needs. Our team of highly skilled agents dedicate their time to providing clear, concise and accurate advice to new and existing customers allowing them to make the best-informed choice on what is a critical and often expensive legal requirement. I am proud that we have continued to perform over the last year sometimes under difficult circumstances due to Covid and many other challenges the country faces, and I dedicate this award to them.“
Winner Health and Wellbeing – Mini First Aid Sussex with Canton Martial Arts and Lushington Chiropractic recognised as highly commended in the category.
Jen Fisher the owner of Mini First Aid Sussex said “The Mini First Aid Sussex team are delighted to have won the Best of Eastbourne Health & Wellbeing business of the year award. We would like to thank all of the families, schools and businesses who have supported us with all of our wonderful reviews this year. It’s fantastic to be able to support so many people to learn potentially life-saving first aid.“
Winner Hospitality – Burlington Hotel with Crown & Anchor and The Sheldon B&B recognised as highly commended in the category.
Nish Barua the General Manager of the Burlington Hotel said “I am very grateful to the local business community comprising thebestof Eastbourne members that have voted me in this category for the award for the Burlington. I hope to be putting a lot back in 2023 to the local business community by networking with my colleagues and their networks supported by thebestof Eastbourne.“
Winner Property Services – Tectonic Digital Systems with Swain Brothers Double Glazing recognised as highly commended in the category.

As a local Eastbourne business, we pride ourselves on providing a friendly & quality service to both domestic & commercial customers and seeing how much positive as well as detailed feedback makes the whole team proud of the work we do in Eastbourne.“
Our final word on Business of the Year 2022
I want to congratulate all of our local businesses who took part in thebestof Eastbourne Business of the Year Awards. While national news can sometimes focus on what’s going wrong with local high streets, I feel it’s important to acknowledge small businesses for their contribution to the local economy and their role in the community, which can often get forgotten. Local people have given their feedback on the businesses after using their services and we’ve seen some fantastic reviews, showcasing the great service you can receive from local businesses here in Eastbourne. On behalf of the businesses, I’d like to thank every person who took the time to leave a review. By doing so they publicly acknowledged the difference that these businesses make to our area.
Next year’s search is already underway, and I plan to include a couple of new categories not based on reviews, to ensure that we are putting the great and good of Eastbourne in the spotlight where they truly belong!
