This was such a wonderful lesson with Shaun. It started at 8am and I just knew we were going to get all the school traffic, which I didn’t really mind as I need the practice!
We set off and headed towards Bolton town centre, up Manchester road and then up to near the test route, we practiced turning right off the busy Manchester Road onto the side road, and at first it was a little difficult as it was so busy, I just didn’t get the right position, but after a few attempts I got it!
The roads were extremely busy as all the children were heading to school. One road we went up had a school on it, and at first I said “oh no!” as there was cars parked on both sides of the roads and cars coming from all directions, but Shaun pushed me on. I was really nervous at first, especially with the really expensive cars on the same road!
I did the same route a few times and I got the hang of it, on one try, an Audi came at me not wanting to stop, but I kept calm and avoided any collisions! Thankfully on the last time, another learner driver was in the same situation and they waited and let me pass!
I’m getting more and more confident with meeting traffic and adequate clearance, and on my next lesson we’ve decided to take a different route back to work than we normally do (the way I come from home) as it’s a lot busier and I want to challenge myself!
Shaun is a great driving instructor, he’s really patient with me and really helps me with my confidence each lesson.
