It seems to have been empty for quite a while now but the old Prescription Pricing Authority Building, St Georges House on the corner of Bridge Street and St Georges Road is being regenerated by Python Properties.

The building which was built in 1908 is a huge 5 story landmark in Bolton and Python Properties will begin work on the site this month.

The refurbishment is expected to be in the region of £1.5 million and will include restoring some of its original features including a spectacular staircase which acts as a central focus to the building and also some lovely decorative high ceilings which have previously been hidden away.

The ultimate plan of regeneration with is due to take around four months will be for office space, a bistro and an art gallery. The plan is for the art gallery and bistro to be in the entrance area as well as a fabulous reception and welcome area.

Bolton is getting better and better at the moment with lots of ‘eye sores’ being taken in hand and being given a makeover and this can only be beneficial, bringing people in for business and leisure.
