THE Bolton woman behind the town’s first Fashion and Lifestyle Festival is helping bring fashion into Personal Protective Equipment.

PR agency boss Lisa Forshaw has enlisted her celebrity friends to promote the latest face visors.

Coronation Street star Faye Brooks, who played Kate Connor in the famous soap until last year, and family and lifestyle coach Lisa Wilkinson showed off the plastic visors which can be attached to any cap for personal style.

“PPE is a serious matter but that doesn’t mean you can’t also look good,” explained Lisa Forshaw.

She is working with a Walkden manufacturing company to provide British-made PPE for all those outside the NHS needing it to help fight Covid-19.

Normally, her job is organising major events like the Bolton Fashion and Lifestyle Festival, which has been postponed until later in the year, and An Evening With … events.

But now, Lisa is promoting the disposable plastic visors and hands-free sanitisers “not just because we need them and they are in short supply but also because I want people to support local businesses and to buy British,” she stated.

“I realised from asking companies already buying PPE that many of them were buying from abroad. But these are manufactured in theUK, in Greater Manchester, and help to support not only local companies but  also local workers.”

In spite of this temporary change of direction, Lisa – who was involved in organising the Manchester Fashion Festival and represents cast members from Coronation Street and Hollyoaks – is still getting support from her celebrity clients also keen to help local businesses.

She added: “It’s a tough time for small businesses and it’s really important that we support them by buying their goods and services. I just hope that when people need PPE they look closer to home for their goods and help the British economy at the same time.”
