March 6th is mother's day, and if you're looking for the perfect way to spoil her, read on as we have 10 top tips!

Mothering Sunday is mid-way between the start of Lent and Easter in the Church calendar and it is the time when people ‘in service’ were allowed home to see their Mum, attend Church, or Chapel, and give thanks for the love of their mother.

We support the idea of showing loads of love for our Mum’s, so we have thought of ten ways to spoil your Mum on Mother’s Day.

Buy your Mum a nice bunch of flowers or a pot plant. There is nothing better to brighten up the kitchen window sill than a nice bunch of daffodils or a ‘pot Mum’ (Chrysanthemum)

Buy your Mum a box of her favourite chocolates, no need to spend loads of cash, think what kind she loves best and buy some for her.

Buy a luxury box, or packet, of fancy biscuits for her, and don’t eat them all! In both cases, hand deliver them if you can.

What is your Mum’s favourite food? Is she a fan of a special kind of food? If so, pop along to your local shops and see what you can buy for her.

Cook breakfast for her and let her enjoy it in bed. If you are not old enough to use the stove, put some bread in the toaster – you may need to ask for help if you are a youngster – and mash a nice cup of tea to go with it. Place it on a tray and carefully carry it to her bedroom. Wow, what a pleasure, breakfast in bed.

Cook dinner for her, and take time to sit and eat with her, allow her to enjoy being spoiled.

If you can, safely, bake her a nice cake. What does she like? If you are not into baking, take a walk into town and buy one from one of our lovely bakeries, or a couple of cream cakes to have with a cup of tea? Smashing.

If your Mum is elderly, or on her own, go and visit her. Take with you any of the above, spend time with her and chat with her, loneliness is sad for any Mums.

Depending on how old you are, take your Mum out for a Sunday walk, Spring is just around the corner, there are lots of walks in Bolton for you to share a family time together.

Take your Mum out for a celebration meal, we have restaurants of all types as members of thebestof Bolton, you may need to book though, so check with them early to be sure of getting a table.

Finally, if you really want to spoil your Mum, give her cuddle and tell her that you Love her, she will be delighted!
