Over 10 years ago the idea of a Kite Festival in Exmouth became a reality with the enthusiasm of the local Rotary Club. Now in 2018 the event is planned to be even bigger and better than the previous nine festivals.
The South West’s largest gathering of American classics, hot rods and muscle cars – including Mustangs, Cadillacs, Chevrolets, Pontiacs, Buicks, Jeeps and a host of other American vehicles – returns to Cofton from 29 June to 01 July for a weekend of competition, V8s, a mega-car cruise, music, food, fun and entertainment.

Sunshine, stunning livestock and school children helped to make the second day of the Devon County Show at Westpoint, Exeter another happy and memorable day.
It was just the perfect day at the Devon County Show. That was the unanimous verdict of organisers, trade stand holders, exhibitors and show-goers alike, after a day of unbroken sunshine, with just a breeze to take the edge off temperatures.
The showground at Westpoint, Exeter is a hive of activity as final preparations are made in time for the 123rd Devon County Show on May 17, 18 and 19. The stewards are briefed, exhibitors are setting up their stands and the stalls, pens, stables and kennels are ready for all the animals.
Living Coasts in Torquay is holding its first ever locals weekend. A special weekend rate – better than half price – is available on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th May to anyone who lives in a TQ or EX postcode area.
This year’s President of the Devon County Show – Edward Darke – is exploring the Show, held on May 17, 18 and 19 at Westpoint showground, Exeter, for the first time in decades despite being involved for over 50 years.
The 123rd Devon County Show was unveiled on Friday, April 20 amid talk about the impact of the late spring on Devon farmers and giant inflatable sea creatures. In sunshine Show President and South Devon farmer Edward Darke said: “I think everyone in Devon farming will be looking forward to the County Show even more than usual this year, after the winter and spring that we’ve had.”
