As the panto season approaches, we reflect on the role of the pantomime Dame – after all, what would a pantomime be without a Dame, or two? Answer: “Rubbish!”

This Christmas 2012 the New Wimbledon Theatre follow in their tradition of ground-breaking pantomime casting by announcing the biggest and most exciting line-up to date for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, with Priscilla Presley as The Wicked Queen.
With the ever popular fireworks displays on bonfire night in Wimbledon and Merton rapidly approaching, this feature has very kindly been submitted by the London Fire brigade with our safety in mind.
Wimbledon Bookfest 2012 launched with a talk by Sir John Major – a former Rutlish school pupil - at The Polka Theatre on Saturday 29th September. This year the Festival will feature many speakers with local connections.
The Olympic Torch is coming to Wimbledon and Merton on Monday 23 July, at around 3.30pm – 5.30pm. Come along and join in, be part of history and make this a day to remember.
