With a new menu for Summer, there are plenty of delicious and interesting dishes to choose from... looking forward to going back to try another.
The bar is also well stocked with some delicious draft Ales and Ciders, on top of the usual offerings.

Went here for my mums birthday meal, food was okay, not a lot of choice on menu and burger I had wasn't up to standard. Nice place and friendly staff.

New to Taunton so we are just "finding our way around". Came across the Allerford Inn by chance on Sunday. Very nice proper Sunday lunch. The Service was very good and their staff civil. Would certainly recommend this place to friends (with or without children). Average Sunday lunch prices (won't break the bank).

I attended a naming ceremony which was held in, its rude to call it a room, a huge conservatory type building along the back of the pub, overlooking the garden and decked area. The ceremony was lovely as was the buffet catered for by the Allerford. We had the doors to the decked area open and were able to sit outside to eat, there was plenty of space for us and the other customers, a huge grassed area for children to let off steam and comfortable seating. Some of us stayed in the evening for a meal, though not a huge menu, it was a very good menu with enough choice to please everyone and not expensive. The food was presented beautifully and was hot and tasty, I had ham, egg, chips and peas which was ham off the bone and lots of it. there were various other choices, steak with peppercorn sauce, faggots sausage and mash and , chicken with rice, all looked equally good. We were far too full for dessert, maybe because we had pigged on the buffet in the afternoon! All in all it was a very pleasant afternoon, shame I am not local as |I would definitely go again. My one small criticism is that not being a local we missed the very small sign stating 'Inn' so missed the turn and had to be 'phoned' in. Oh and lovely helpful staff (apologies, the staff comment looks like and after thought at the end, but not meant to be like that)

Chose here for a Father's Day lunch.
Was not disappointed. Good portions and good quality.
At £71 for four adults, a toddler including drinks and pudding it was well worth it.

We held our wedding reception here on 11th June. Tom and the team did a wonderful job decorating the function suite to our exact requirements early in the morning. Nothing was too much trouble. Staff were unobtrusive but attentive, friendly but professional and wonderful attention to detail. On arrival the room looked amazing. The food was cooked to perfection and our guests commented what a perfect place The Allerford was to hold our wedding reception. Younger guests enjoyed the decking area and chance to play football! In the evening the Buffet was superb. Perfect day, perfect venue, perfect everything. We cannot recommend Tom and his staff at the allerford highly enough for a wedding or any function, or a meal out. We will be returning again and again. Huge thanks to all the staff for their hard work from the early morning to the wee small hours of the next day from the both of us.

We held our wedding reception here on the 10/06/16, I can honestly say that everything was perfect, the staff were attentive and friendly and nothing was to much trouble, the food was amazing from the lunch right through to the evening, everyone was impressed with every part of this fantastic place, we will be returning to eat here again very soon, The Allerford Inn is a must visit for anyone

We enjoyed a lovely lunch, my grandson really enjoyed watching the trains go past. Service was a little slow and food portions were a bit small but other than that the food was very tasty and will return with family.

Had to come back after our first experience was amazing.
This time didn't disappoint, I had the gammon steak, my partner went with the sirloin, perfect! Staff very friendly and helpful again. Ate outside this time, nice and sunny.

I wanted an early Saturday evening meal in a local pub with my daughter so we dropped in to the Allerford Inn to 'check it out' - the reviews I'd read seemed favourable so thought it worth a try. The pub was well presented, with modern layout in a traditional setting. Plenty of parking with back and front gardens for drinking and/or eating. We received a very pleasant welcome from both the bar staff and young male waiter. The menu offered a good range of dishes, I enjoyed my home made Lasagna and my daughter said her Mushrooms stuffed with blue cheese were delicious. We were too full for pudding but they looked good on the menu. We expect to return before too long.

I choose the sirloin steak cooked between blue and rare, which is usually very risky as it is very rare that I receive a steak cooked correctly. Pubs always tend to play it safe and is served to me done medium.
But I have to congratulate whoever cooked my steak last night as it was cooked to perfection and so tasty. The chips were nice and crispy on the outside and light and fluffy in the middle.
Will have to visit again for a family Sunday roast.

I booked the Allerford Inn as a surprise for my in-laws Ruby Wedding Anniversary... I'd booked the buffet for 25 people & the whole experience was fab!
All the guests commented on how great the food was, we also found the service to be very good.
Ellie is a great credit to the establishment & should be commended for all her efforts in making the evening so memorable.
We'll definitely be coming back!!

We walked through the fields from norton fitzwarren out to the Allerford night. We are very find of this pub and all it has to offer. Has the weather was lovely and sunny we sat in the busy beer garden and enjoyed a few ciders before ordering some food. The food was tasty as always, the service good, and the cider was excellent! Then we stumbled back home through the fields ;-)

Great service, lovely food with a great selection of vegetables on the carvery wouldn't eat no where else but here in Taunton for a Sunday roast the best by far! Very good would recommend to anyone we are regulars who eat here most Sunday's

Very much enjoyed our meal here the other night as always. Great suroundings, friendly and helpful staff, and fantastic food Recomend their beef burgers followed by home made Toblerone cheesecake.

Took my parents there for dinner. If you've got a big appetite this is the place for you. Man size portions of well prepared quality food. One of the few places I've been where they can cook a steak exactly like you order it.

I had a group of international visitors who were attending my place of work. They wanted to experience an informal, relaxed environment whilst staying in Taunton. Based on our visits to The Allerford, I thought I'd book them in there.
You then worry - that you've recommended somewhere, based on your experience, but is it what our international guests would enjoy?
Needn't have worried!! I got into my office the next morning to find a picture of a "thumbs up"!
The feedback I had was that everyone had really enjoyed their meal - but not just the meal, the atmosphere was great, made to feel extremely welcome - just an overall very enjoyable evening.
Two of our hosts had said they'd thought of visiting, but hadn't got round to it - but now say they're going to definitely visit in the future.
So once again, thank you to all at The Allerford - unfortunately I couldn't join them that evening - so will have to visit again with the family!
