We visited The Allerford whilst on a weekend away and I must say our experience was really great! We got seated within 5 minutes of walking in, the service was excellent and the food was really good! We visited with our two young daughters and they were very accommadating with amending the menu to what they like.
Really tasty food for fair prices!!

Visited the Allerford inn with 2 friends in the evening, we all had the steak pie
which was delicious, could have done with some veg with it instead of
chips though. Not many people in that night, Tuesday, Good menu, enjoyed it, will return..

Lovely renovation, great friendly service, we ordered two steaks and everything was cooked to perfection. A chocolate orange dessert was to die for! The basic service of having to get up to collect menus and place your order could be improved on a quiet lunch so the customers feel more welcome especially in the first couple of weeks of opening. However we will be returning as this is an old favourite pub and we hope this pub reaches top popularity again.

I went for a Sunday Carvery at the newly re-opened Allerford Inn, and really enjoyed the food on offer. Price wise I'd consider it value for money for what you get, with the food on offer of very good quality, and the Inn itself is a very welcoming place to be. It has outside seating as you'd expect, though do watch out for the active high speed railway line nearby if you have kids. If you're a fan of walks you might enjoy a stroll in the fields behind the pub with your family, or your dog, that runs along the river before or after a meal here. Parking was good, and all in all a very nice inn and I'd happily eat / drink here again.

I visited the Allerford inn after someone had liked it on facebook so thought I would try it out with my family for lunch, it had been open for 4 days when we went and the food was lush, gravy was epic with the pie I had but could have just done with some peas but thats just me been fussy and my partner had a mega burger which was mega! Shall be visiting again soon.

For several years I had seen the Allerford Inn from the train while travelling from Cornwall to Somerset. It always looking interesting. When I moved to Somerset a couple of years ago I checked the maps and went to try it. It was closed, I found it had been badly flooded late in 2013. Well last week-end it opened after what seems to be a major refurbishment. Tonight we went to try it, enjoyed the layout, found it welcoming and friendly. We had a simple meal, burger made on the premises, and very nice it was too, I get the feeling they have started off with a fairly limited menu to get back under way. The menu suggests a specials board will soon be introduced.

A promising sign, somebody on a table nearby had ordered pie of the day. I did not know what it was but when he started eating, I could smell that it was probably Steak and Kidney pie, I asked, and it was. good to know food smells right.

We will be back
