It's that time of year where you get to don the glad wrags and head out to celebrate the festive season with friends, family and work colleagues. So, what's going on when and when?


The Gainsborough, Kings Street

It's not just Christmas where you can enjoy a few cocktails and dance until the early hours, so it won't come as any surprise The Gainsborough have some great nights planned. 

You can enjoy one of their wonderful Christmas meals (download the menu here) and then dance until your feet are sore with their resident DJs

30th November they have 80s and 90s Night , cocktails and G&T are 2 fror £8.50

December 16th is their annual Christmas Quiz

December 21st party at The Gainsborough, With Bells On, resident DJ, cocktails and dancing until 2am

India Sudbury, North Street

India Sudbury host amazing tribute nights, with a special 3 course menu of their wonderful Indian Cuisine, throughout the year. This December, the award winning Cher tribute act, Tania Alboni, will be playing for two nights on the 12th and 19th December. There are a few tables left, but these events sell out, so contact Luthur and the team to avoid disappointment. Read more here


The Wagon at Sudbury

 This is the first Christmas for newly refurbished Wagon. They have live music planned on Friday evenings and a stunning Christmas menu, you can download here. Most Saturdays evenings are fully booked for Christmas parties, but do check with Hattie, Tim and the team.  And don't forget, every Friday is Fizz Friday, where you buy a bottle of prosecco for £15 or 200ml bottle for £5 from 12pm-9pm. The Secret Garden, Friars Street

If you've never been to the Secret Garden Restaurant on Friars Street, you are missing out! As well as running wine tasting evenings and special themed menus, such as their successful Medieval banquet they hosted earlier this month, their Christmas Menu is now available. You can also book for their New Year's Eve Wine and Food Pairing Evening, which won't disappoint. Click here  And their Christmas Party menu is available until January 12. Download the menus here


The Crown at Hartest

Although not strictly in Sudbury, it's only 20 minute drive away and certainly worth it. The Crown is taking bookings for their Christmas menu. You can download theirs here. The Crown is a cosy pub, in the heart of Hartest. With a roaring fire, beer from their sister brewery, freshly cooked food, what's not to like. There's over 30 wines to chose from too, but don't worry if you're the designated driver, you can enjoy a wide range of soft drinks.


The Fox at Bulmer Tye

Having recently been bought by owner of The Crown, Gusto Pronto, The Fox is offering a Christmas Menu for those looking to enjoy a homecooked seasonal Christmas meal. Just a few miles outside Sudbury, you can enjoy their beer from sister brewery, Brewshed, a wide selection of gin and extensive wine menu. Click here for more details.
