As 2023 concludes with its Christmas programme, The Quay Theatre in Sudbury is eager to present its vibrant selection of shows for the upcoming spring season.

The season begins with the comedic talent of Lee Hurst on 27th January, followed by Chris Sainton-Clark’s humorous musical tribute to country pubs and Robbie Cumming’s engaging Canal Boat Stories on 30th March.

Music lovers will be captivated by John Robb’s recounting of his musical adventures on 22nd April.

Drama continues to be a cornerstone at The Quay, with Eastern Angles performing 'Stones in His Pockets' in April.

The works of P.G. Wodehouse are brought to life by Don’t Go Into The Cellar on 28th March.

A comedy double act, 'Gold and Coppers' from Nicholas Collett Productions, offers a mix of '80s music, a comedic heist, and a Home Office debacle on 5th April. Chloe Wade’s 'As She Likes It', a play exploring serious themes related to the 'Me Too' movement, coincides with Female Empowerment Workshops on 20th February.

For younger audiences, Little Angel Theatre makes its Quay debut with 'Dogs Don’t Do Ballet', a puppet show for ages 2-6, on 12th April. James Campbell’s 'Comedy For Kids – Don’t Panic We Can Save The Planet', for ages 6-11, promises eco-friendly fun on 23rd February.

The Quay Theatre continues its commitment to making theatre accessible with the Drama Season Ticket, offering up to 20% savings. This spring also sees the introduction of the Live Cinema Season Ticket, with discounts for screenings including those from the National Theatre on 25th January, 22nd February, and 21st March.

Music enthusiasts can enjoy the folk tunes of The Finn Collinson Band on 4th February, Reg Meuross on 16th February, and energetic Bluegrass by Flats and Sharps on 6th April.

The Quay's History Evenings, now named in honour of Lord Andrew Phillips, are scheduled for 18th February, 10th March, 7th April, and 21st April.

You may not know, but The Quay Theatre, as a charitable entity, relies on community support. Its Friends Scheme, offering exclusive benefits for less than £3 a month, strengthens the bond with patrons. The Quay 100 Club provides additional support and the chance to win in a monthly cash prize draw.

Businesses can also contribute through customised Corporate Sponsorship Packages.

In collaboration with Painters at The Angel, The Quay now offers charcuterie Bamboo Boats for pre-order, enhancing the pre-show experience at selected performances.

Tom Lagden, Executive Director of The Quay Theatre, expresses his excitement about the diverse range of spring shows and the emphasis on children’s theatre. The introduction of the Live Cinema Season Ticket, along with the Drama Season Ticket, offers patrons more ways to engage with the arts at The Quay.
