Sudbury Home Care Business to Make Dreams Come True

1 Oak Home Care, a local home care business based in Acton near Sudbury has been helping make their clients’ wishes come true. For the last couple of months, they’ve been asking their home care clients and visitors to their Day Care Centre:

“If you could do any activity, what would it be?”

Wishes have included having a paddle in the sea, a drive in a sports car with the roof down and probably the most wonderful was a wish from a couple who really wanted to attend their grandson’s wedding on the South coast of England.

Unfortunately, due to ill health, the couple were unable to make the long journey. Absolutely heartbroken they were going to miss this important family occasion, the family asked 1Oak Home Care if they could help find a way to enable the couple to still be involved. After numerous calls with mobile provider EE, who generously provided Internet access to the couple, 1 Oak Home Care was able to sort out a Skype call so they were able to watch their grandson get married and then “join” them for the speeches at the wedding.

The family were extremely happy with the outcome saying “With the marvellous efforts of Angel and her team, although our parents could not be physically with us for the wedding, they were able to share in the joy and see their grandson get married.  We are so grateful to everyone who helped to make this happen.”

Having seen the positive impact granting these small (and not so small) wishes have had with their clients, with the support from Company Director Terry Clark and the team, 1 Oak Home Care now want to bring “1 Oak Angels” to the wider local community and help grant wishes to older people. They are keen to connect with local businesses for potential sponsorships and collaboration. 1 Oak Home Care have committed to donating part of the cost.

“We pride ourselves on going above the call of duty for our clients and grant their wishes, but it doesn’t seem fair that the wider community are excluded – the services from the 1 Oak Angels will be open to all. We will arrange the wish, carry out all risk assessments and try to obtain funding and sponsorship so it doesn’t cost the person or their family,” says Angel Doyle, Managing Director of 1 Oak.

So, whether you’ve always wanted a pen pal, a professional makeover, get a tattoo or even spend a week on a cruise, 1 Oak Home Care have a dedicated team of wish-makers to organise and help make it happen.

If you’re a local business who can help make the dreams of the older community come true or indeed if you have a wish you’d like to come true, please get in touch with them by calling 01787 326555 or emailing angel@1oakcare.com
