Sudbury Estate Agents celebrate International Women’s Day & their success
Sudbury based Estate Agent, Boydens is marking International Women’s Day on 8th March celebrating the significant role women play in the Estate Agency business. Celebrated each year on 8th March, International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.
70% of Boydens employees are female and the celebration will be especially pertinent in the Sudbury branch where the whole team are women.
Angela Jeffery, Branch Manager of Boydens in Sudbury has worked for the company for nearly a decade and has witnessed many changes, notably the ratio of male to female workers.
Angela recalls that it used to be a very male dominated industry, but these days many of the most successful estate agents are women. This may be because women have such a mixed skill set and are apt to multi-task.
Boydens were joined in 2015 by Emma Perry, the branch’s Sales Manager. Even within a very competitive Market, sales in the last year have doubled.
Angela says: This is certainly down to Emma’s excellent communication and organisational skills and of course, that our clients enjoy dealing with Emma and appreciate her open and honest manner”
The sale and purchase of a home can sometimes be fraught with emotional aspects, something which Emma is well aware of:
Emma says; “Having empathy, understanding and being prepared to listen carefully to a client in order to provide a distinctly personal service is very much part of an Estate Agents role which is where, in my opinion, a female consultant comes into her own”

Hello! I'm Penny from thebestof Sudbury, shouting about the best local businesses from Hadleigh through the Clare. When I'm not doing that, you'll find me knitting socks or tending to my 6 chickens
