As the owner of thebestof Sudbury, I champion buying local. Supporting those local businesses who contribute to the local economy is really important. You don't have to look far to see the how much more of an impact buying local has on an area.
Each year, in June, I take to the streets of local towns and villages, if anything to remind people what great people and businesses we have working hard to provide you with great shops and services. And they can only succeed if they're supported by the community.
So, this month, why not take extra time to pop to your local butcher, health food shop or book shop, rather than popping online and going to an out of town supermarket.
On my first day out with the stickers, I popped into Creative Couture on North Street Parade. The hairdressers, owned by Ann-Marie Sell, have been in the town for over 10 years. As well as being a hair salon, they also offer tanning and beauty treatments.
Next supporting the BUY LOCAL campaign, is Dan Reader, thebestof Sudbury member and founder of Mindbody Performance. A Personal Trainer with nearly 3 years experience. Dan is opening his first PT only training studio next month in Pentlow, between Sudbury & Clare. You can read some of the lovely reviews his clients have written him here. He's fast building up a reputation of being one of the most sought after Personal Trainers in Sudbury.
Tiffins Tea Emporium, in the village of Melford, has been owned by Faye for 18 months. The tea room has already won awards for their afternoon teas. They have a fantastic selection of teas and cakes. Oh yes, cakes to die for! If you're in Long Melford, you really must pop in.
And last, but certainly not least, is Jane Pearson, owner of Health Foods For You & the latest business to join thebestof Sudbury. Jane has just relocated from Friars Street, to North Street. One of the many great services Jane offers (and something you will never find online) is a personal service, tailored advice with the facility to source (to the best of their ability, obviously) any health food, supplement they can. If you're after the gluten free, organic, vegan pasta, Jane will be the one to find it. Went to the US and discovered an unusual dairy free spread, Jane will pull out all the stops to see if she can get it in store.
If you'd own a business and would like a sticker and bit of promotion, just click here and fill in the form and I'll happily pop down with my camera. If you've already got a sticker, no problem, I'll still pop down with my camera!
So, let's all support those businesses on our door stop and BUY LOCAL!

Hello! I'm Penny from thebestof Sudbury, shouting about the best local businesses from Hadleigh through the Clare. When I'm not doing that, you'll find me knitting socks or tending to my 6 chickens
