Get Ready to be 'Gobsmacked' by Comedian Josh Jones at The Quay Theatre

From dazzling TV audiences on "Jonathan Ross's Comedy Club" to cracking jokes on "8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown," Josh Jones is a comedy talent you'll want to keep your eye on. This rising star is bringing his unique brand of humour to The Quay Theatre in Sudbury on 25th October with his latest show, "Gobsmacked." We caught up with him for an exclusive interview, where he spills the tea on his comedic inspirations, how he navigates the highs and lows of live performances, and why his show is a must-see. Clear your calendars, because an evening with Josh Jones is one you won't soon forget!

The Making of 'Gobsmacked'

When asked about the title of his show, Jones was candid. "I came up with the name really simply. You have to come up with a title before you even know what the show is going to be about," he says. The title follows his penchant for picking quintessentially British phrases, much like his previous show, "Waste of Space."

Life, Laughs, and Turning 30

Turning 30 is a milestone for many, and Jones is no exception. Nearly 31 now, he brings his various antics to the stage. But don't expect any spoilers. Jones is keeping the tales of his life under wraps, enticing audiences to come and experience them firsthand. "It can be a bit rude," he warns, "so if you don't like rude stuff, maybe it's not for you."

The Reluctant Comedian

Interestingly, Jones never set out to be a comedian. "People kept telling me to do stand-up, so I did," he says, admitting that he initially wanted to pursue acting. His comedic style is hard to pin down but has been influenced by a range of professional comics. "I love Sarah Millican, Sarah Silverman, Wanda Sykes; loads of great ones," he notes.

Josh Jones in Sudbury: What to Expect

Jones confesses that he's intrigued about performing in Sudbury, as it's a departure from his typical city-centre audiences. "Most of my following has been selling really well in the North and in major cities. It's mainly gay men and such. So I'm intrigued to see what Sudbury will be like," he muses.

Don't Miss Out

In his personal message to the people of Sudbury, Jones invites everyone to "come and have a good time" at his show. "If you are a bit prudish, then maybe it's not for you, because I can be a bit rude. But it'll be really fun," he guarantees.

So, there you have it. With a career on the rise and a sense of humour that's already hit the mark, Josh Jones is the comedian to watch. And you've got a golden opportunity to do just that.
