“Peake Fitness” based at The Stoke by Nayland Hotel, celebrates 15 successful years this September, and is delighted that many founder members are still regularly completing their work-outs at the health and fitness complex.

The club, considered to be one of the premier of its kind in the region, is set in an idyllic location and offers extensive state-of-the-art facilities overlooking Constable Country, but Chris Grimwood, Centre Manager, believes that a large part of the success is due to its dedicated team, who go the extra mile to help Members achieve their specific health and fitness goals.

“Looking back at the last fifteen years, we are proud of what has been achieved, not only on a general business level, but also in terms of the personal encouragement we have provided to a huge number of members, some of whom have faced particular health and lifestyle issues.  It’s fantastic when you see an individual make wonderful progress, and we have had some brilliant success stories in that respect.  Occasionally we are asked to help with rehabilitation following an accident or sports injury, or assist someone with specific medical conditions, and job satisfaction is obviously huge as their progress is monitored, and they are finally back on track.

Additionally, our Fitness team has been pleased to support many charity fund raising events, including St. Helena Hospice, Addenbrookes Hospital, Children in Need, and Help for Heroes.  Several individual Members have completed the London Marathon, London to Paris, and Brussels to London bike rides and even rowing the English Channel – all for a variety of charities”.

Peake Fitness is also active in promoting wider issues such as heart health, and annually stages a “Healthy Heart” evening with free attendance, supported by the British Heart Foundation in an effort to educate the local community on heart and other general health aspects.  “These days everyone leads extremely busy and sometimes stressful lives – even after retirement!  I think we would all admit we have become more complacent about exercise and diet, so paying proper attention to our health and fitness is perhaps now more important than ever” Chris went on to say.

Chris added “It’s great that our Members can work out in the gym, participate in a class in the fitness studio, just enjoy a relaxing swim in the luxurious indoor pool, or simply have a treatment, and we have a diverse range of ages and ability - from 16 to over 80!  The emphasis is on overall wellness and wellbeing, by enhancing fitness levels, and encouraging relaxation as a whole.

We now look forward to the next “Peake” era and continuing this successful philosophy”.

Peake Fitness is staging an Open Weekend on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th September, from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm.  For further details see click here or call 01206 265841.
