Now it’s October we can look forward to the trees changing into their autumn finery, warming soups and stews, brisk walks on chilly sunny days and of course finding that our central heating has stopped working sometime during the summer!

1st October – Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
1-31st October - London Restaurant Festival. What is it? A line-up of mini menus, food events, tasting evenings and more involving hundreds of the capital's best venues.
4th October – National Poetry Day

12-14th October – Hertford Food and Drink Festival. Hertford Castle grounds will be hosting this annual event, expect to find world food stalls as well as The Castle beer festival which will be in a marquee on the lawn offering a variety of local and national beers, ales and cider. 15th October – National Baking Week
22nd October – National Curry Week
