Hello perfume lovers. I make no apologies – this month is mainly about the guys!

With Fathers’ Day on 20th June, many families are looking for something special for their fathers and grandfathers. Traditionally, aftershaves and fragranced shower gels have been firm favourites.

In recent times, our favourite men have had a much wider choice of fragrances and have become much more discerning about which fragrances they like best. The fragrance industry is doing its best to influence our choices.

In previous months I have explained how to choose a fragrance which suits the wearer’s individual skin chemistry, together with the differences in perfume content of what’s in the bottle you may be lovingly gifting on Fathers’ Day.

With this in mind, I’ll give some suggestions from FM’s perfumed product ranges which the guys have told us are their favourites - also loved by the ladies who know them best!

But first, a quick reminder of some important information:

  • FM sources its perfume compositions directly from DROM, a perfume manufacturer which also supplies many of the endorsed brands you’ll have seen advertised.
  • The perfume content of FM’s Pure, Pure Royal and Utique brands is 20% (parfum) so has more staying power than the eau de parfum and eau de toilette offered by most endorsed brands.
  • FM’s perfumes have no celebrity endorsements and are not advertised on TV so can be offered to you at very favourable prices.
  • FM classifies its perfumes according to the same perfume family groups used across the perfume industry, enabling us to find you fragrance choices in the same family groups as the endorsed brands you may be familiar with.
  • Layering scents by using perfumed shower gels can boost and extend the impact of your favourite fragrance.

So here are some suggestions from our traditional and new favourite perfumes created especially for the guys:


Chypre Typically earthy and herbal earth notes

Fougere Typically forest, grass and herbal notes

Woody Typically warm and deep notes with a resin, forest aroma
