ECOklean have been members of thebestof Hertford for some time now, and since meeting owner Stephen Hayward a number of times, I can tell that his passion and commitment to his job is still alive and well.
It’s worth noting that in recent months that Stephen of ECOklean has earned the grand title of master rug cleaner (one of the few people in the UK to be awarded this title). In fact as Stephen talks about at our networking events in Hertford, he specialises in oriental rug cleaning.
Now “oriental rugs” sound expensive and out of place anywhere other than a grand country house. But many people are surprised to learn that most rugs can be ruined if not treated and cleaned the same way as an oriental rug can be. There are too many carpet cleaners out there that fire up the machine and away they go. But Stephen has a different more careful and environmental approach to his cleaning ritual. He collects the rug in his van and takes them away to his dedicated plant and spends hours treating and cleaning them.
Not only is it this hands on customer centred attitude that ECOklean have which sets them aside from the competition, it’s the fact that Stephen won’t charge you if the stain can’t be removed (within reason) and also he takes great care in moving your furniture should it be in the way. It seems a worrying trend is developing in which most carpet cleaners won’t go as far to move customer’s furniture, instead relying on them to move it themselves. Rest assured that this is one trend ECOklean won’t be following!
