We have some excellent news today about one of the best attractions in Hertford, the Hertford Museum.
It has recently been nominated as one of ten museums and art galleries in the UK for the Art Fund Prize 2011. This is fantastic news and really puts Hertford on the map. The Hertford museum has been around for a long time and in my view is an integral part of the culture of Hertford. Dozens of schools from the local area visit the museum on a regular basis and I can certainly remember many trips there when I was younger.
What’s amazing about this fantastic nomination for Hertford Museum is that as of today (04-02-2011) it’s currently 3rd in the overall rankings! Competition it’s up against isn’t just other local museums, but the mighty British Museum in London famed worldwide for its ancient history and artefacts, and the Victoria and Albert Museum also in London.
