It really has been an age since font was put from key board to laptop and a blog of amazing value was created, so with no pressure at all, here goes……

It has been a very busy few months at Kids Camp in the lovely town of Hertford. We have had several very successful holiday camps including the BIG 6 week summer holiday bonanza, an inspection from Ofsted and our first birthday, so just a couple of things to keep the time ticking by.

The first word goes to out about our holiday camps. We have had a really wonderful time celebrating the very best of being British with our Queen’s Jubilee half term camps which included our very own Jubilee Street Party, a Football Camp taken by our fantastic Hertford Town football coach and a Dance Camp run by our triple threat Stagecoach teacher – only the best for Kids Camp children. This if only a 3 day holiday was set up to be a hard act to follow; we did really try our best to pull in the big guns for the long 6 week summer holidays. Thankfully we had the weather on our side and the summer saw Paradise Wildlife Park, The Hertfordshire Martials Arts MMA club, Hertfordshire County Cricket Coaches, Glee Musical Theatre, Hertfordshire Rugby Club Coach, Dance Camp, Football Camp, Olympic Sports Day, Nature Camp, a visit to the Celtic Harmony Camp on the opening day of the Celtic Games, Cooking Camp and Bouncy Castle Fun Day to name but a few of the excellent adventures we put together for our future leaders. Summer at Kids Camp really was a fantastic combination of full on fun, education, mental stimulation and chill out time for all who attended.

Our Ofsted visit was a really great learning experience. We had a house full energetic charges who put us through our paces, making a novel outward manifestation of our inner turmoil….. We have/had put in a lot of work into meeting our responsibilities under Ofsted and the EYFS and thankfully all that work was well invested. We received a good rating for our practice across the board. We aim to maintain the effort and aptitude of our practice so far, and intend to look for new ways to improve and innovate for the future.

On the 6th September 2012, Kids Camp very proudly had its first birthday. We look forward to enjoying our second year meeting with and connecting to many more families to provide the very best care and support for our future leaders.
