thebestof Hertford and Ware has enjoyed a flying start to 2017 thanks to its members collecting a string of national accolades last week.

Six members of the local branch of the business guide were singled out for praise in the national thebestof Business of the Year awards, which attracts thousands of entries from across the UK. Unlike other awards which only rely on entry forms, thebestof rewards businesses which receive positive testimonials from satisfied customers.

Leading the way for Hertford and Ware was Hertford Business Buzz. The monthly networking group which meets at the Friends’ Meeting House in Railway Street, won both the local and UK Business Support and Networking category.

Commenting on their success, Hertford Business Buzz host Jan Hunter said: “Winning a national award is an incredible honour and I would like to thank all the local business owners who have supported Buzz over the four years since we started it.”

The Business Allotment, which helps companies across East Herts to develop through training and support, was Highly Commended in both the local and UK Business and Professional Services categories.

Founder and owner Jodie Newman, said: “It is fantastic for The Business Allotment to be Highly Commended in both the Hertford and Ware and the UK categories of the thebestof Business of the Year awards.

“What is great about these awards is that they are based on client reviews – and great reviews are a culmination of working hard to deliver real value to our clients to help their businesses grow. We will display our awards with pride, because it is not often that a business receives this type of recognition. And, of course, we would like to say thank you to all our clients who left a fabulous review!”

HR was also named as a UK finalist in the Business & Professional Services category – an amazing Consensus achievement for the Hertford and Ware branch considering the level of competition and the diverse range of industries represented.

Consensus HR Managing Director Matthew Pinto-Chilcott said: “I am honoured to have been voted by my present and past clients as a finalist in thebestof Hertford and Ware Business of The Year Awards for the category of Business & Professional Services.

“It makes me happy to know that Consensus HR offers a service that is valued by clients for helping to make their businesses successful. This is exactly the reason why I set my HR consultancy business, so I could provide a fully insured and legal HR service at a fraction of the price of seeking legal advice from a solicitor.”

Hertford’s Pelican School of Motoring obviously passed the test with its customers as it was named a national finalist in the UK Driving Schools category.

Owner Steve Hunter said: “We were extremely pleased to receive the award for finalist in thebestof Business of the Year awards for the second year running. Congratulations also to other local businesses who won an award and we will be endeavouring to go one better next year!”
