As the Hertford Town Football Club team continues to improve, extensive work has been carried out behind the scenes on the facilities including a pitch which is now one of the best in the division. As part of Hertford Town’s community focus, the club has embarked on a partnership with Mudlarks Community Garden Charity, whose efforts on the pitch and surrounding areas are already having a beneficial effect. Hertford Town want to help support young people with getting involved within the community whether that is through groundsmanship, to being a player or turning up to support your local team. The partnership with Mudlarks Charity is already looking like a success, with the training pitch showing improvement with the plan being that it can soon be used as a pitch for the youth club and under 21’s. Hertford Town has also found a great supporter in one of the Mudlarks gardeners who is set to be a lifetime fan of the club.

Once a year, the committee also organises “Fans’ Day” where all supporters are allowed into a game free of charge. A significant part of the day is the participation of the younger youth players, who get to play on the pitch before the first team match. Last season, this event welcomed a crowd of over 300, who enjoyed attractions such as a racing car simulator and a popular Greek barbecue.
