Welcome to the Hertford Blog!

Following Hertford Museum’s nomination for the Art Fund Prize 2011 a weekend of fun was had for all!  On Saturday 30th April a Love Your Museum day was held at Hertford Museum.  Throughout the day visitors enjoyed a number of free events.  Giant games were played in the beautiful garden and tours of Hertford Town were led by local historian  Jean Riddell.  Visitors enjoyed the longer opening hours and live music by Nuala, Sam Smith and Kelvin Fuhr.

On a more current note the museum is taking part in the national event, ‘Museums at Night 2011’ on Friday 13th May.  There will be a torch lit museum trail for kids where they will look for the secrets hidden in Hertford Museum, this will take place between 5pm-7pm.  And it’s all for free!  Just drop in!

For adults there will be ‘A Pleasing Terror – Two Ghost Stories by M R James’ read by Robert Lloyd Parry which is a 7.30 for 8pm start.  This costs just £10 per person and is for all adults and over 13s.
