Should our customer want something completely unique to them, our bench skills kick in and our inner designer takes control. Using the latest technology we can create works of art as functioning pieces of jewellery and give our customer the opportunity to see it before its formed in real metal. Along with our rendered images comes the approximate cost of the job giving our customer all they need to make their decision.
This is an ideal situation for any customer who doesn't have a clue what they are after, the design process is great for eliminating any styles the customer is not happy with and helps narrow the options down. It is not always the case that we go through this with every customer.
One of our nicest stories of 2015 belongs to a couple who live out of town. Her partner presented her with a loose diamond to mount however she wanted as she had always had a design in mind and a great eye for detail. Our customer had a personalized service at a previous jeweler before heading to us in Hertford as they found their quote to not be within budget.
After a few initial emails with all sorts of research attached our customer came in with her Mum to discuss the ring of her dreams. After talking at length about the design, we advised her on certain parts that needed to be taken into account when designing a bespoke piece. Sizes of stones dictate how high they will be set and qualities and colour of stones are of the upmost importance. Our customer took her time to soak up all the information we threw backwards and forwards between each other and committed to a free quote being done based on the design discussed. We ran through things she definitely didn't like by using the stock in store so that she had physical pieces to try on and discount or include on her design. As she had a keen eye for detail it was very easy to pick out slight differences and narrow them down to what should be applied to her ring to give her the best look.
Once our customer had left the store we started work on her quote straight away and informed her respective partner of how much he would be potentially spending. With the quote coming within budget our customer visited one last time to check that all her details were correct and to run through a few things for peace of mind, it was then that she left her diamond in our capable hands and we were able to start her job.
Her partner collected the ring and was over the moon with the result. Naturally nerves kick in but we have since had another visit from our newly engaged couple with one lady who loves her ring, and quite rightly so, it’s a stunner! And one gentleman who was over the moon with the product and service we provided them as a couple. (They also came armed with chocolates to thank us for all our hard work) They are now in talks with us for their wedding bands and we look forward to working with them once more.
